Entrapment

Morgan Stephenson’s current body of work focuses on the relationship with her paternal grandmother and its continuance after her death. She reexamines memories and emotions through archival imagery, familial heirlooms and storytelling from a personal perspective. The body of work also explores the illusion of control utilizing photography, digital manipulation, and textile techniques such as digital printing on fabric, hand sewing and dyeing.

For this piece, she embodies the idea of being trapped within family expectations and mindsets.
