Medusa was a victim, but we don’t remember her as that. Individuals who are sexually assaulted and raped are not the ones to be blamed. The texts within this piece are all taken from news reports, individual accounts, and tweets talking about rape cases or their own experiences associated with the #MeToo movement.

Kayla O’Neal is a Masters of Fine Arts candidate in Studio Art with an emphasis in drawing and illustration at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. O’Neal interned as a photographer through the Disney College Program; she has had her photographs in several galleries including the LoosenArts Gallery based in Rome, Italy. Her writings have been published in TeenInk, Emergence, and The Friend magazines. She is currently writing and illustrating Noor, a children’s book dedicated to create diversity for characters with chronic illnesses.
