Mint Kisser

This piece was inspired by my time living in the City of Brotherly Love. After growing up in the secluded hollers of the Appalachian Mountains, Philadelphia was new and inspiring, and I wanted to capture a small piece of it for myself. “Mint Kisser” is a mixed media painting. During that time in my artistic process, I used graphite and watercolor for the beginning layers and then built depth and dimension with pastels. The medley of mediums also lends to the idea of beauty in inclusion, how different things coming together can produce something wild and wonderful.
